Good restaurant and very nice terrace overlooking river. The girl on reception whene we arraived waqs very helpful.
The hotel was conveniently situated so that we could walk into Salisbury very quickly. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food in the hotel was delicious and not expensive. We were especially pleased to be able to watch a pair of kingfishers from our room as they were going in and out of their burrow to their chicks. We would definitely stay here again, and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
This is a charming hotel located just a few minutes from Salisbury Cathedral. Our recently updated room looked out on beautiful gardens and the River Avon and its resident swans. Just across the river were grazing sheep and beyond them was the spire of the cathedral. There is a restaurant and pub located within the hotel and several restaurants to choose from just across the bridge. The hotel has a car park (no charge) and the staff is very accommodating.
V good overall package
Large room and access to garden lovely. Very comfortable beds. Good restaurant with lovely views and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. We were only there for one night but will recommend to friends who plan to visit Salisbury for long weekend later in the year.
Weather was very cool for the time of year -end of August - so could have done with radiator or, preferably, heated towel rain in bathroom. Also the tap seemed to be at wrong angle for the basin as water tended to rush over the top. There was a sign about water pressure but it took us by surprise when we and the floor got wet!
The reception staff made us welcome and it was excellent thereafter. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels throughout the world and price for price the hotel is there. If you have a fault with the hotel then I would say look inwards before you look outwards.
Not a complaint--------- but I cannot complete question 4 because I knew the hotel and its service from a visit several years ago and wanted to go the again. In fact your organisation loomed inti view when I entered Rose & Crown on the Internet and will use you again if need be.
Central position - reasonable walking distance to cathedral and shops and restaurants.
Room not properly cleaned unexpected surcharge on credit card and poor staff reaction to my querying it we expected full breakfast for rate paid. Whole experience felt amateurish
Old building in a lovely site beside the river although could be dangerous for children.a short walk from centre of salisbury which was great for shopping and the car park was perfect.
Reported to the manager that the shower head would not work and all he said was that if that is the only complaint you have got then I am not doing to bad then, and walked away.I Purchased a roll of gaffer tape and managed to make a temporary repair so usable. Had english breakfast when waitress was pouring my coffee she missed the cup and and poured all over my breakfast, she said mop it up with your knapkin.next day continental breakfast bread stale and altogether very poor breakfasts, did not complain as would probably have received sarcastic remark. When checking out reception did not even ask if we had enjoyed our stay.Would not use this company again.
The Bar Staff and Restaurant Staff at Breakfast were very good The Food in the Bar was excellent
The Choice of Food in the Restaurant was very poor. My Wife is a plain eater and there was nothing on the Menu for her. We had to move to the Bar to have a decent meal. The Dress Code rules for the Restaurantcat Dinner was antiquated and archaic and I was surprise to find it in this day and age. Not Impressed
Lovely peaceful riverside location but close to centre of Salisbury.
Hotel full of character, nice food, comfortable and good value
The rooms were clean and spacious and had a wonderful view across the River Avon towards Salisbury Cathedral. The location is excellent, being far enough from the city centre to be peaceful and quiet but also close enough to walk to the Cathedral grounds and city centre within 10 minutes. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful with excellent local knowledge. I would have expected to pay a much higher price for a hotel of this quality and location.
Fantastic location by the river , really cosy and friendly hotel . Our room was was lovely , mixture of contemporary and rustic , loved it . Recommend rooms 1-8 as they are in the old part of building . Will definitely return and recommend to others .
Friendly and helpful staff .
Poor hot water system in the en suite, never got really warm. Catering needs urgent attention , very poor for price and range. Dining room needs a make over.
Comfortable hotel in lovely location, great view of river while having breakfast.
Hot water took a very long time to fill the bath in the evening.
